Link Building with Blog Rolls

One effective way of optimizing blog rolls today is to find similar blogs of the same genre and category. Ordinarily, anyone can exchange links with any site or blog roll, as long as they are able to put up a link to the chosen site as well. This is familiarly known as link building, the easiest way to put up links and establish a point of reference from other sites as well.
There are also sites which offer one way links, but ideally, these would take time before they would be placed. A lot of things are put under consideration namely, the ranking of the site requesting the link and the genre, a key indicator if the site is relevant to the one requesting for a link.
Most sites don?t cater to genre and consider links as long as reciprocal links are given. These are sometimes categorized as link farms, taking away the actual essence of the site since it only becomes a gateway of sorts to establish itself on the web.
The best practice to put up links is to categorize them properly and stick to relevant and useful links. Being tagged as a link farm totally takes away the value of a site. This is something that most blog rolls and websites would definitely want to avoid.
