On Getting Obssessed with Blog Stats

Blogging is fun. Others describe it as addictive. Others see it as a source of income. Whatever it it, we’re all affected by blog stats. Some people keep on tracking how many visitors have they had for the entire duration. So maybe something like a month.
In any case, there are bloggers who are very conscious about the number of visits that they get. There are all sorts of tools to determine these different numbers. In any case, what is essential to you as a blogger? That is something you have to ask yourself.
You have to remind yourself that these tools are not just for your gain or for you to monitor what goes on into your blogs. You are using them so that you could also get ideas on what other people, the ones who read and comment on your blog, would like to read on your blog. They usually go to your blog so that they could get more information. Whatever reason it is that they have to get information from you, you could see how you would be able to relate with them. That is why you could also see what keywords these people use to be able to reach your blog as they search. Or you would also see the referrers so you know what they were reading. Can you figure out the relevance of those numbers? More or less, there would be that pattern but it could still change. Maybe it just so happened that for that time, it was like that. Being too obssessed over these stats might not really be that beneficial for you in that case.
Remember, it’s not just a matter of the numbers. It’s also how you connect with people. Tools make it easier for us to know how we could connect well with others. In problogging, sometimes you could get sidetracked and focus on these numbers. Hopefully, we would all learn to strike a balance so that we won’t turn into stat-crazy folks. After all, it would also be nice if we’re not just good in terms of stats. There are also, of course, blog awards.
