Add Value To Your Content

Piggybanl

When talking about professional blogging, people sometimes get to thinking about how they write, what they write and all these techniques for search engine optimization. A lot of of people still say that content is king and if you subscribe to that, you know that somehow you have to find ways to make your content fresh, at the same time relevant and unique.

Matt of 37 Signals actually has some interesting things to say on the matter and it all boils down to adding value to what you do. This also applies to the content on your blogs. You might not be the best blogger out there on a particular topic but if your content is something that people would like to read a lot, you will gain loyal readers and you could get people thinking about the topic some more.

If you are talking about food, you could try talking about more experiments with food. Maybe there are some ingredients that people traditionally don’t put together. Or you could even talk about food in other cultures. Take hot chocolate for example. Maybe your readers are primarily from your country and in your country hot chocolate is served plain or with milk or some crushed nuts. What would happen if you share about the Mexican way of drinking it: with spices like chili. That would be quite new and you could even try playing around with the idea by making a recipe that includes that particular spice.

That’s probably something that is needed in the blogosphere: Spice. Sometimes people talk about the same things over and over again and it seems like we might be echoing each others’ thoughts. Instead of that, we should be finding out what fusions of ideas and different cultures could bring to our lives. The blogosphere is like the entire world encapsulated on the Internet through online interaction on video, audio or written words.
