If there is one thing that probloggers are after, it is that of prestige and upholding the quality of blogs that they would want their readers to continuously patronize once they have been officially posted on their blog site. If there is one thing that differentiates a certified problogger from the unreliable blogger seeking pay for his work.

The level of classifying probloggers from bloggers on the rise may sometimes be hard to distinguish. Practically anyone who has the knack for writing or blogging for that matter can assume the role of a certified problogger who has made such a practice part of their everyday lives.

The only difference though may be in the area of quality and what problogging is all about such as focusing on the most sougt after topics and producing the necessary information and content to adhere towards such demands. Payment for such expertise are secondary for them since it is more about getting the job done as often as possible.

If there is a good way to be able to blog effectively, it is that of considering the Internet as the person you are talking to. Compared to the usual manner and course of communicating interactively, the response may not be instant but possible. Responses are done through comments or emails, something that is evidently done today in most forums and blogs.

But taking it in this aspect brings out the social talents that bloggers have. Blog entries are actually conversation igniters wherein a topic is being opened for discussion through the primary insights of a blogger. Such can be compared to actual life conversations where people who are not interested would simply ignore the topic at hand.

On the other hand, people who always make it a point to stress their own opinion and views will most likely be the starting point for a good exchange of ideas and opinion.

For effective probloggers, knowing what words would probably end up being searched for is one key towards making problogging a notable success in most cases. While referral to actual proper noun usage makes potential hits to pages more feasible, the matter of making the whole process into one good quality content layout in blogs is a necessity.

It is not easy to produce quality blog entries by using a keyword over and over again. Some may classify the entry as a spam blog thus losing interest in checking out the other related posts that may be of interest to them.

Being exposed to the web, a blogger would know the word or words that would normally be searched for and used. A broad used word such as business, technology and real estate may not necessarily catapult a site to the top of the rankings hence the need to be more specific in the use of keywords related to the actual search query entry.

Probloggers have a purpose, and this is to provide pertinent and relevant information catering to various fields of interest as needed by people who seek assistance in the form of available information through blogs over the web. It is easy to blog, but to blog with sense is another thing. People will always read a blog entry closely, but losing the endorsement by visitors will be a telling factor with regards to the overall reliability of probloggers should there be some discrepancies on consistency.

Information consistency and relevance is what is expected from probloggers. Jumbling words to form paragraphs and blog entries is not their immediate tag. Probloggers are expected to deliver authentic and reliable content and this is something that the experts have been doing. Half-baked bloggers are existent in the world and most of them fail to flourish. This is because people have become wiser in easily spotting spoiled content over relevant ones.

Editing blog entries could be quite a chore but you have to do it anyway. Instantly publishing all your thoughts might lead to confusion if you are not careful. Your blog entries do not have to be absolutely perfect but you have to be clear. People might think you mean one thing but you mean another. (All over the world we even have different ways of using certain words and that causes enough confusion, don’t you think?) Here are some things you should watch out for:

Misspelled words. When drafting your blog entries, make sure that you have your spellchecker on. If not, do a spell check right after you write your draft. Sometimes you might be typing too quickly and you end up with misspelled words.

Run-on sentences. Imagine this: you have a very long sentence and the clauses are only separated by punctuation marks. Sometimes it would even look like one entire paragraph. When you have such a sentence, it might be better to re-write it. If you think that the length of your sentence is still reasonable, try reading it aloud. It would help you see if there is a need for pauses and stops.

Dangling modifiers. An example in The Essential Writer’s Companion:

On returning home, the door slammed shut.

That looks funny, doesn’t it? The door slammed shut on returning home? The problem with dangling modifiers is that they do not have subjects of their own.

When you blog, you communicate with others. (It’s not just about monetizing your blog, folks! It’s about sharing your views!) If people do not understand you because of these little things you forget to check, it might be difficult for you to come across as credible. You don’t really have to be a word geek to communicate clearly. You just have to be careful.

Making a career out of blogging has become so popular these days. It?s a fact that more people, especially the younger generation and those who are into the information technology, have developed an interest in blogging. ?Blogging? is all about writing your thoughts, creating your sites and sharing your knowledge and ideas with other people online.

But how does one become an effective blogger should he or she decide to make this hobby into serious work? Professional bloggers say it?s best to be your natural self and to be more organized in your thoughts as this is very important in making write-ups, more so if you?re blogging for a certain company or network. Don?t be too serious with the topics you write about as this might bore your readers and don?t try to be too funny as well.

Sustaining the volume of your readers should be of utmost importance to a professional blogger. You can do this by regularly updating your blogs, adding more posts of varied interesting topics, making your pages more attractive but eye-friendly and responding to queries as immediate as possible, no matter how minor they are. You wouldn?t want your regular readers to go look for other blogs, would you?

One more thing a blogger should always keep in mind is to be well-researched on his or her subjects. The more sources you have for your articles, the better and you will even be greatly appreciated if you provide the right information to your readers.

In writing any article or blog post, content online should always be a major consideration. For professional bloggers, the more researched you are about a topic, the more ideas you can write about it. The more sources you have, the better. And remember, be organized with your thoughts.

There?s no need to provide a long introduction about a certain subject. Just be direct to the point and give the necessary details that you think will help your readers. You may start from a general statement but be sure to go the specifics in the succeeding sentences.

Each paragraph should express just one thought. No long and too-detailed explanations in a sentence or paragraph, please. Keep in mind that many people who go online don?t want to take too long in reading a certain article as they usually browse through several webpages at one time.

Use simple english as much as possible. For those blogging for companies or networks, avoid using slang, yet keep your tone engaging. Your aim is to make your readers easily understand the information you would like to convey to them without giving them much difficulty.

Don?t leave your post hanging in the end. Instead, close it with a conclusion or recommendation. By all means, you can recommend other sites where they can get additional information on that subject you wrote. And always, keep them coming back to your post by putting some invitations on other interesting topics that you authored or just about to write.

Mobile blogging – an essential component in your blogging life. While you can always carry your laptop around for mobile blog posts, sometimes there may come a time when all you have is your iPhone, and the situation will call for a quick way to blog. It may be because of a breaking news that’s worth blogging or simply an error in a previous post that got passed your proofreading and must be corrected as soon as possible lest the Internet sees it first and correct you in droves. It is therefore essential that you have iPhone apps that you can quickly use to create a post or edit existing ones.

Wordpress and TypePad [iTunes links] are the currently the only major blogging platforms that have their own iPhone apps. These apps are both excellently-crafted and gives you all that you need for quick and dirty blogging on your iPhone if you’re using their services. Not using wordpress or TypePad? Shozu should save your day.

Shozu’s iPhone app supports Blogger, TypePad, Wordpress, LiveJournal, Vox, Freewebs, moblog, and even the metaweblog API. It also supports twitter, facebook, flickr and photobucket for the social and media aspects of your blogging. Used with iPhone’s built-in Notes and Voice Memos app for quickly taking notes, a decent Internet connection, these three essential blogging apps for your iPhone will assure you that you can be mobile and still take care of your content. Of course, you also have with you a very capable web browser, Mobile Safari to complete your mobile blogging arsenal.

I once had a blog that I decided to revamp and change titles. However, that blog is a personal blog so there’s no real problem when it comes to switching titles. So what do you do if you feel like your business blog has gone stale? What if you feel like it needs a revamp?

First of all, what you need to do is go through an evaluation process wherein you should answer the following questions:

Is your blog doing well in terms of traffic and/or revenue generation?

If not ask why but be more specific.

Do you need to do SEO?
Is it the GUI?
Is it the content?
Or is it the entire concept?

After you have pinpointed the areas that should be focused on it is time to get even more detailed. When it comes to SEO and GUI it is a good a idea to call in the experts. Hire an experienced firm to evaluate your site according to their metrics and then ask for a proposal. You need not go with the first firm but see what different service providers have to say.

If it is the content or the entire concept that is lacking it’s time to go back to the drawing board. Rethink your goals and map out a plan to achieve it step by step. Probably one of the mistakes committed was going pro-blogger blindly. You might want to keep your domain name though, unless it already has a stigma attached to it, because you don’t want to waste the readership you’ve already got as well as the domain age (unless you can get an older more reputable domain).

The guide, as the title suggests covers quite a number of topics from hosting to commenting and using WYSIWYG editors to various blogging best practices.

The 80 page guidebook, which is available for viewing and downloading (free of charge!), may have been written in 2005 but the content is still really relevant to today’s blogger, both aspiring to go pro and otherwise. According to Bergman the book “addresses about 100 individual “how to” blogging topics and lessons, all geared to the content-focused and not occasional blogger. More than 140 citations, 80 of which are unique, are provided to other experts with guidance for all of us.” Topics he singles out to in his introduction for its usefulness include:

*How to choose blogging software and add-on tools
*Taking control of the blogging process by hosting your own site
*Getting your blog to display and perform right
*Effective techniques for converting existing documents to your blog site HTML
*Being efficient in posting, organizing and work-flowing to allow your diarist activities to flow naturally and productively
*Keeping the blog site pump primed with fresh and relevant content.

Note though that because of the length and the depth of the discussions do not expect to be able to absorb everything all in one sitting. And remember, though reading will help you learn a lot, experience is still the best teacher. So make sure you apply what you learn on your blog.
