Probloggers have a purpose, and this is to provide pertinent and relevant information catering to various fields of interest as needed by people who seek assistance in the form of available information through blogs over the web. It is easy to blog, but to blog with sense is another thing. People will always read a blog entry closely, but losing the endorsement by visitors will be a telling factor with regards to the overall reliability of probloggers should there be some discrepancies on consistency.

Information consistency and relevance is what is expected from probloggers. Jumbling words to form paragraphs and blog entries is not their immediate tag. Probloggers are expected to deliver authentic and reliable content and this is something that the experts have been doing. Half-baked bloggers are existent in the world and most of them fail to flourish. This is because people have become wiser in easily spotting spoiled content over relevant ones.

This is sound advice. However, you should also remember that the reason why you need to know who your target audience/readers are is to be able to adjust to their needs. Here are a several aspects you should consider when thinking of adjusting to your readers’ needs.

Technical knowhow and capabilities – Consider your readers’ technical limitations. If your target audience are techies chances are that you won’t have to consider limiting your blog design to accommodate slow internet connections. However, since they know more about technical matters they will also be more critical of such facts and will probably be using a more varied set of web browsers. If you have audience from the older generation do consider internet connection speed and possible outdated browsers and computer specs. Make sure you also consider the user interface for the sake of usability.

Tone – If you have an industry-specific blog make sure your blog has a tone suitable to the general personality of the people in that industry. For example, a law blog means formal and deep content. An entertainment blog, on the other hand, calls for a laid back writing style.

Length – The length of your blog posts will also be determined by your target audience. In general blog posts shouldn’t be long but if your audience expects in depth discussions then you have to adjust accordingly. A kids blog will obviously need consistently short posts using age-appropriate words.

These are just some of the ways knowing your audience will help you adjust to make your blog more suitable and appealing to your readers. The important thing is that, as soon as you realize that there’s an aspect of your blog you can tweak to serve your readers better, you do something to address your readers’ needs.

Want to spruce up your comment section but out of ideas? One simple way you can spruce it up is by styling your (the author’s) comment. This tip may seem a little useless but it really has some benefits including:

Setting apart the author comments – This is an advantage to your readers because it will make it a whole lot easier to scan comments so that at a glance they can pick out your responses to their and fellow reader’s questions and comments. This is even more important when the comment section gets really busy and threaded comments appear making it harder to see which reply is the author’s.

Showing the readers your extra effort – As I said it is pretty easy to do, which means no real hard work on your part, but to readers the extra effort will reflect on how much you pay attention to details and how much you want to make things more user friendly to your readers.

As I have mentioned above the main purpose of stylized author comments is a better UI for your readers. Now this means that when styling your comments you should keep it simple. Highlighting your comments is the usual way to do it. You can also add an image that will really easy to spot and is distinctively you but make sure that it is not overdone to keep the professional look.

Here’s a couple of useful links to help you style your author comments:

Highlight Author Comments
Style Author Comments in WP 2.7

I once had a blog that I decided to revamp and change titles. However, that blog is a personal blog so there’s no real problem when it comes to switching titles. So what do you do if you feel like your business blog has gone stale? What if you feel like it needs a revamp?

First of all, what you need to do is go through an evaluation process wherein you should answer the following questions:

Is your blog doing well in terms of traffic and/or revenue generation?

If not ask why but be more specific.

Do you need to do SEO?
Is it the GUI?
Is it the content?
Or is it the entire concept?

After you have pinpointed the areas that should be focused on it is time to get even more detailed. When it comes to SEO and GUI it is a good a idea to call in the experts. Hire an experienced firm to evaluate your site according to their metrics and then ask for a proposal. You need not go with the first firm but see what different service providers have to say.

If it is the content or the entire concept that is lacking it’s time to go back to the drawing board. Rethink your goals and map out a plan to achieve it step by step. Probably one of the mistakes committed was going pro-blogger blindly. You might want to keep your domain name though, unless it already has a stigma attached to it, because you don’t want to waste the readership you’ve already got as well as the domain age (unless you can get an older more reputable domain).

I found a great site for you. – Weblogtools collection. I found the blog while looking for great themes and found some really good ones reported there. They have a pretty good list of plug-ins too but what really drew me were the themes. I’m pretty sure you’ll find a plug-in you’ll find useful though.

What I really liked about the blog though is not only it’s content but also the layout. It makes for a great resource because it is so easy to find what you need. The blog makes use of a three-column layout where snippets of blog posts can be seen on the left column, various less important (at least important for me as a reader) stuff on the right column, and a very useful list of theme, plugin, and Wordpress news smack in the middle of the page. This is my favourite part because at a glance I can start picking links that will help me see the info (i.e. themes and plug-ins) that I need.

I would give an example of their content but Mark Gosh just recently complained about him being sick of splogs copying their content. Though we’re definitely no splog I think you’ll just do as well looking for the themes and plug-ins at their site yourself. Just remember we pointed you to their direction! ^_^

Before a person would blog, he would have to consider and take into consideration of the possible readers or target audience that he is catering to. It would be pointless to write or blog about something that would not stir any form of interest from his target readers and may eventually be a blow to his credentials since he is getting out of topic. The focus of concern of most topics would usually depend on the theme of the blog of the person administering it.

So for example, a blog dedicated to business would probably be considered to be getting out of focus if he would blog about something regarding the celebrity and entertainment industry. Unless a blogger is talented enough to maneuver the topic towards being relevant, the blog entry is something that will not be connected in the area of business. But this is perhaps something that a blogger may consider a challenge, being able to manipulate and turn things around to actually make sense!

Collecting and safekeeping of all the blog entries consolidated from the various sites that bloggers would enter will be similar to compiling them one day into one entire book for sentimental and fulfillment endeavors. Rarely would you see people treasuring such compositions and putting them all in one book for a complete collection of possible future references.

Blog entries are treasures unlike that of others. To people, they may not be worth the effort but many would be surprised at the enormous amount of blogs and content compositions that they have done after a certain period of time. There is no doubt that storing such entries made will bring back memories and help anyone recall of what they actually wrote and giving insights into various fields of interest such as business and technology.

While some people may not be as passionate as some people do when it comes to safekeeping and treasuring their work, the essence of most blog entries really lies on how they were constructed and how people would continue to rely on these information for guidance in the long end.

The common practice that most bloggers are expected to write about would be that of certain areas of concern focusing on current events, products or services and other special areas of interest. Some research may be in order, but these are kept at a minimum simply to get a gist of what a person can expound on regarding the topic at hand.

It is never easy to think of a catchy headline where people can find it appealing and interesting. It takes some creativity and sensibility to be able to do so. In the early stages, a person would have a rough time thinking of what they can actually blog. But once the points of interest have been readily understood, everything will fall in to place naturally. Just like fire, something would need to ignite the basis for blogging and that is entirely dependent on what the problogger is aiming to achieve and target.

Varying opinions and points of view will be normal. A person would write according to what he believes and understands. The opinions will always be up to criticism regardless if they are good or bad. But whatever the case may be, it is respecting what the person believes in and not what readers would know about the subject matter. Besides there will always be the comments portion to stress their ideas, something that would entice a good discussion between the blogger and the reader.

For most bloggers, there are different platforms that are in use to help in doing their blogging prowess. Among them, WordPress has got to be the most common console that everyone today has been using and it is not that difficult to understand. WordPress can be typified to working desktop where all the resources in maintaining an actual website are practically in the same nature.

To most people, undertaking a new type of platform and software seems to be too technical and hard to understand. The funny thing is, if a person would know logic and the basic foundations of html programming, learning WordPress is really a breeze. Links and the type of editor to use are the basic things to get a person to start blogging. It is easy as composing a simple document in Microsoft Word.

The best way to understand the methodology of blogging through WordPress is to actually use it. Like in programming, it would be best to have a hands-on experience to be able to appreciate the beauty of software platforms in use today.
