Probloggers have a purpose, and this is to provide pertinent and relevant information catering to various fields of interest as needed by people who seek assistance in the form of available information through blogs over the web. It is easy to blog, but to blog with sense is another thing. People will always read a blog entry closely, but losing the endorsement by visitors will be a telling factor with regards to the overall reliability of probloggers should there be some discrepancies on consistency.

Information consistency and relevance is what is expected from probloggers. Jumbling words to form paragraphs and blog entries is not their immediate tag. Probloggers are expected to deliver authentic and reliable content and this is something that the experts have been doing. Half-baked bloggers are existent in the world and most of them fail to flourish. This is because people have become wiser in easily spotting spoiled content over relevant ones.

Mobile blogging – an essential component in your blogging life.While you can always carry your laptop around for mobile blog posts, sometimes there may come a time when all you have is your iPhone, and the situation will call for a quick way to blog. It may be because of a breaking news that’s worth blogging or simply an error in a previous post that got passed your proofreading and must be corrected as soon as possible lest the Internet sees it first and correct you in droves. It is therefore essential that you have iPhone apps that you can quickly use to create a post or edit existing ones.

Wordpress and TypePad [iTunes links] are the currently the only major blogging platforms that have their own iPhone apps. These apps are both excellently-crafted and gives you all that you need for quick and dirty blogging on your iPhone if you’re using their services. Not using wordpress or TypePad? Shozu should save your day.

Shozu’s iPhone app supports Blogger, TypePad, Wordpress, LiveJournal, Vox, Freewebs, moblog, and even the metaweblog API. It also supports twitter, facebook, flickr and photobucket for the social and media aspects of your blogging. Used with iPhone’s built-in Notes and Voice Memos app for quickly taking notes, a decent Internet connection, these three essential blogging apps for your iPhone will assure you that you can be mobile and still take care of your content. Of course, you also have with you a very capable web browser, Mobile Safari to complete your mobile blogging arsenal.

Time and again advice is given to bloggers to know or identify their target audience. This is sound advice. However, you should also remember that the reason why you need to know who your target audience/readers are is to be able to adjust to their needs. Here are a several aspects you should consider when thinking of adjusting to your readers’ needs.

Technical knowhow and capabilities – Consider your readers’ technical limitations. If your target audience are techies chances are that you won’t have to consider limiting your blog design to accommodate slow internet connections. However, since they know more about technical matters they will also be more critical of such facts and will probably be using a more varied set of web browsers. If you have audience from the older generation do consider internet connection speed and possible outdated browsers and computer specs. Make sure you also consider the user interface for the sake of usability.

Tone – If you have an industry-specific blog make sure your blog has a tone suitable to the general personality of the people in that industry. For example, a law blog means formal and deep content. An entertainment blog, on the other hand, calls for a laid back writing style.

Length – The length of your blog posts will also be determined by your target audience. In general blog posts shouldn’t be long but if your audience expects in depth discussions then you have to adjust accordingly. A kids blog will obviously need consistently short posts using age-appropriate words.

These are just some of the ways knowing your audience will help you adjust to make your blog more suitable and appealing to your readers. The important thing is that, as soon as you realize that there’s an aspect of your blog you can tweak to serve your readers better, you do something to address your readers’ needs.

To make sure that your blog content is accessible to as wide an audience as possible here are some things you should keep in mind.

Browser compatibility – You might be more into the writing but you do need to at least know enough, or have someone that knows enough, to be able to check whether your blog is viewable using the major web browsers (IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc.). There’s nothing so irritating to me than having to switch from Safari to Firefox when a website or blog doesn’t render properly.

The limiting factor – Limiting what? SPEED. You should take into consideration that not all your readers have the same computer specs and internet connection speed. Make sure your blog wil still load at a decent rate even with an ancient PC and/or a dial-up connection. You can offer an alternative slow connection speed version if needed.

RSS Feeds – I personally use a feed aggregator to keep track of blogs I like. If you do not offer feeds your chances of luring people into becoming your regular readers will be a lot less. You also have to make a decision on whether to offer just excerpts of your post on your feeds or the full text. I prefer full text for my personal blog but that depends on you purpose and frequency of posts.

In fact its updated version (Wordpress for iPhone version 1.21) is already available. So what can you do for your blog with this app?

You can…

1. Write posts and save them as drafts of publish them;
2. Delete drafts;
3. Resize photos and upload the photos;
4. Edit pages; and
5. View and manage your comment section.

If you thinking that typing up a blog post with such a relatively small device can be tedious you are right but this is made more bearable by the fact that Wordpress can be viewed using landscape mode (not possible in the previous version so upgrade your Wordpress version if you still can’t do it).

The Wordpress app works with the new iPhone 3G, the original iPhone, and iPod touch. Note that upload and publishing speed will depend on your internet connection so make sure you have a reasonable signal before attempting to publish posts.

Wordpress for iPhone is available via iTunes and your iPhone App Store. For more info head to the Wordpress for iPhone website.

Bloggers who feel that they can take on all the tasks handed to them and at the same time entertain other jobs simultaneously is a good sign for commitment and dedication on the part of a problogger. However, a blogger should also know when to measure the amount of workload that he can able to handle. Some would push themselves to the limit, but this may end up sacrificing the expected quality content of blogs that they maintain.

In this time and age, people would want to tackle all opportunities available as long as they can fit in their schedule and daily routine. Blogging may sound easy to most, but the essence of quality must also be considered. The whole blog sense is important since it is what people would always be looking for. Making blog entries simple and understandable is all that matters and probloggers know this all too well.

The problem beseeching most people today when it comes to distinguishing between a blogger and professional blogger or problogger is that many would not know the difference. Even with the help of affordable search engine optimization by groups like Los Angeles SEO, it would all seem to be the same.

Many claim it is just another way of ensuring that professionals are the ones blogging for them. In fact, anyone can lay claim that he is a professional blogger when is just a plain one. So it all boils down to how they can be differentiated from one another. Probloggers are still falling under the category of bloggers.

Hyperlinking and quoting some actual news and articles may be one area for consideration but any person who is technology aware can do this with any blog application like Wordpress. But consistency and how to mold all the ingredients of professional blogging into one sitting would be the only way to distinguish the best on blogging practices. It is more inclined to savvy than simple writing or blogging per se.

Problogging is a choice in more ways than one. For one thing, blogging was never really seen to be a going factor with regards to becoming a career choice. But today, bloggers have seen the opportunity that problogging offers and many have taken up the challenge by sharpening their grammar skills. It is one of the basic foundations along with focus and concentrations that allows a normal blogger to be elevated to the category of being a problogger with promise.

Today, anyone can assume the identity of being a problogger. But companies who are in need of such problogging are wise to connote that much of it will rely on their ability to make quality blog entries. There are a lot of people who are only plain expertisebloggers but have the qualities of being a problogger. All it takes is passion and focus. That is all there is to being among the elite probloggers that have spread all over the world today.

For blogs to reach the peak of their actual purpose of existence, probloggers must emphasize on the relevance of content and the sense that it projects. Composed blog entries should not be entirely about something without relevant information to back up such claims. Hence it is good practice to ensure that citations and hyperlinks to reference sites, if applicable, are present.

Topics of interest can be numerous. Probloggers may choose to focus on current events or hot topics that can be easily checked out on the web today. Blog entries need not be to the letter. Getting the idea from a present article and composing it in such a way to provide easier understanding is a good way to approach such highlights from issues and topics that interest the people over the web today.

While it is good to rewrite existing articles and content, bloggers must be careful not to try and basically write the whole thing by simply exchanging the terminologies. This may lead to plagiarism and get the blogger into more trouble rather than success.

The easiest way for a person to understand certain areas of interest is to focus on using simple terms rather than complex terminologies for the sake of impressing readers. Most writers are expected to use the advanced terminologies in their compositions but blogging does not necessarily have to follow the same expectations.

The simpler and directly to the point explanation will garner more attention rather than scratching heads in given situations. It must be noted that readers are simply after answers in the quickest form of understanding. Impressing people follows and this would be after some time once they have established their blog to be a reliable source of reference once the need suffices.

Providing definitions of actual terms can be done through hyperlinks to others sites on the web such as Wikipedia and Dictionary.com. Explanations are concentrated towards these sites which should not be something that bloggers would misunderstand as a necessity. A bloggers job is to emphasize points in his own understanding, usually something that is easier to understand for readers who are not too technically or grammatically inclined to understand complex word structures.
