Too Many Ads Don’t Make a Good Blog

ads

Take a look around you. You see blogs being monetized. A lot of them have Google AdSense. There are also those with TextLink Ads and there are also those with affiliate programs. How many of us monetize our blogs? How many ad units or textlink ads do we have on our blogs? Have you ever thought about taking out some of these ads because your blog seems to be crowded by ads already?

Advertising on blogs is not bad. Who knows? Those ads are probably be beneficial to readers anyway. In one way or another, especially if they are looking for solutions and packages that would help them in their needs. However, those of us who monetize blogs should be more careful in where we place those ads on our blogs, as well as the size of the ads and how many ads we have. If your blog has only one ad program, let’s say Google AdSense, it would be alright as you they also stipulate limits in the number of ad units you could put on your blog.

Ask yourself these questions:
Are your ads taking up so much space?
There are blogs with really big ads. Like the first half of the entry is almost unviewable because the column containing the entry has a huge ad.
What can readers read on your blog?
If it seems that you see too many ads, it might be time to select which ads to retain. That or change the size of the ads you have. There are discreet sizes of ads anyway. Why not use those?
Do you get complaints about having too many ads?
If you do, it’s definitely time to evaluate your ads.

What you can also do is ask someone you know to review your blog, not just in terms of content. Just check it out and tell you what they think of your layout and how your ads are blending in or sticking out. Sometimes we get too preoccupied about the way we could monetize our blogs to the disadvantage of our readers.
