Building your online reputation

Being a pro-blogger takes some guts.? Chances are you would have so many kinds of reactions to your blog, or maybe in the beginning of your blogging there might not be a lot.? Sometimes, it just takes one wrong move and you are stuck with a bad reputation. Unless you really believe that any kind of publicity is ok, or maybe you want to be known as someone who’s a bit on the nasty side, or maybe even considered bitchy.? (That is why there are A-listers on the blogosphere too. Maybe you could think of these bloggers as the blogosphere’s counterpart of Hollywood celebrities.)

Building up your online reputation is something critical.? People would like to see you as different things.? It can’t be helped.?? Everyone comes from different backgrounds and there are certain preconceived notions as such. If you are consistent with what you say and do on the ‘net, you would be fine.

Being a pro-blogger does not always mean that you are the top expert on your topic but it does help.? After all, people like going to reliable sources of information.? People also like reading blogs because of the kind of language you use or the approach you have when it comes to tackling different issues and topics.

There are pro-bloggers who are known for their humor and lifestyle.? Think of bloggers like Jetset Lara and the like.? They are read because of their lifestyles and people are very much interested. There are also bloggers like Seth Godin and Steve Pavlina, who are seen as gurus in their own ways.? Their blogs are well-written and they seem to relate well with other bloggers and readers online.? I am personally not sure how they started out with their blogs but they certainly have a following.? That is why it is amazing as you read their blogs and see what’s going on in their lives and how people react to their entries.
