Speaking up as a problogger

Each of us probably has different experiences when it comes to speaking in front of crowds. Sometimes people invite probloggers to talk about their lives and it could be an interesting experience for you. Here are some tips on speaking… and the preparations before it.
Relax.
They probably just want you to be there and speak with them in person. There’s nothing quite like speaking and connecting with people offline. Regardless of how different your age groups and backgrounds are.
Be early.
If, for example, you would be using a projector and a laptop, you have to make sure that everything works just fine. You wouldn’t want to have technical failures while you are already speaking.
Another good reason to be early is that you have to make sure that your room schedule for the session has not changed and so on. This is a very practical consideration. Aside from that, it’s better that you’re early so you could also mingle with some people there.
Converse with the people.
The difficulty that a lot of people have when they are invited to speak is that they just speak. Sometimes it might seem to be the appropriate approach. However, people can relate some more if you include them in the talk. Ask questions and make sure you give them time to speak even a little. Hmmm. It would sure be interesting to have Jack of All Blogs speak in front of a crowd!
You could probably have even more tips than these. In case you do, please feel free to share them. All of us bloggers, especially probloggers could really learn from each other. Not just when it comes to search engine optimization but even also when it comes to speaking engagements.
