Keywords and fellow bloggers: Checking the competition

Are you driven enough to scout out the other blogs aside from trying to focus on what you have? Reality tells us that we are not the only beings on the face of the planet who have certain skills. As such, we have to make sure that we are one step ahead of others.
When it comes to blogging, you must remember that content is king. Without good content, how will you be able to attract others to your blog? If you are a famous celebrity so you might have to resort to other means… However, part of that content writing is that you have to optimize your content as well. That is why you must also make sure that for the particular niche you are targetting you are blogging using particular keywords and you must also scout out the competition.
There are tools that could help you with that. One of them is Niche Watch. As they claim on their site:

Sounds geeky? Not much. So head to sign up an account on Niche Watch. You could sign up for free anyway. You just need a Google API. If you already have a Google account, you would not have any trouble signing up. Else, you could get a Google Account and an API key will be sent to you via your Gmail account. It is quite easy and direct to use. Just type in the keywords or key phrase you have in mind. You could add your site URL on the next box. The search results displayed will be a table format. You will the addresses of the webpages that compete for your particular keywords. You will see the performance of your own site and the top twenty sites in that niche.
