Getting Too Personal on Your Blog

conflict

There is such a thing as being too personal.

When it comes to writing our blog entries, we can’t help it sometimes. We could get too personal in the sense that we are too attached to what we are writing about. Sometimes it couldn’t be avoided that we might end up speaking up against particular people as well. That is the bad thing about being too personal in our blogs: we could potentially hurt others without knowing it.

There might be issues in your city that you really take seriously. Maybe you have been blogging about the practices of some businessmen in your city and maybe how some of those practices show injustice towards their employees. It is understandable that you speak up against such practices. But how do you do it? Is it that when someone reports to you of an injustice you suddenly just write on and on about it? Will you post it immediately on your blog without verifying facts?

Some people say that blogging is citizen journalism. On one hand, it might be true. That is a facet of blogging as it seems to be. However, if people are not careful about such issues, there could be bigger problems that might arise out of these matters and it would be quite tricky to get out of situations. Blogging entails responsibility and that is why one must always remember to write carefully and not just blog head on, even if it is a topic that you are passionate about. You never know who are the personalities you would encounter. Some of them might sue you and you have to be prepared when that happens.
