Watch your words on your blog

words
Each of us has a distinct style when we blog. Sometimes we use these styles to project a particular persona. Some of you might have started as somewhat anonymous people by blogging about your personal experiences and you might have used some kind of code names just to make sure nobody knows it is you. You might have even changed your writing style altogether because of that.

When you change your writing style, it really affects your entire blog. Your words would show happiness but in a different way. Or you might end up sounding more argumentative than you are in real life (or offline, as some people would prefer to say). As such, you really have to watch your words.

If you have achieved celebrity status in the blogosphere because of that particular persona you have projected on your blog, all the more you should be careful with what you write and how you react to comments. You have to be consistent. Sometimes, you would probably think that it is so difficult to create a persona. But the thing is, you have to decide that when you start blogging. After all, blogging is supposed to be personal so you have to mean it in a personal way when you write anything.

Whether you are projecting a persona or you are blogging as yourself, you also have to be careful with what you say. Everything on your blog is recorded and the Internet has archives of it, be it in Google Cache or the Internet Archives. Your words can be used against you and if you were attacking someone personally on your blog or his/her blog, your words will turn up somehow, no matter how hard you try to bury it.

As they say, it is better to be safe than sorry. Just think of all those people you might have to apologize to as well as the pain you would inflict upon others and yourself. People have to be responsible with words. Blogging could sure make a big impact.
