Why Teachers Would Make Good Bloggers

Just this morning I was invited by a school to make a short presentation and talk about blogging. Now the first thing that came into my mind is are they in it for the blogging or the money? I would be a hypocrite if I said they were in it for the blogging and typical for any person these days looking for good sources of income, a lot of curious ears were listening.
Questions were thrown, mostly about how much one can make from blogging. The risks of blogging, the technical expertise needed were likewise emphasized. But one thing you would note is that most of the invectives hurled in the course of the discussion involved a lot about scams and how they can blog for a living.
Most of the people who asked were the professors. It makes you think on whether they are doing it for the sake of discussion or on whether they are really inclined to take up blogging as a sideline outside their teaching. It was stressed that if there is a person who would be fit for the job, a teacher would be one of them.
Why? Well for one, blogging is similar to teaching. You are narrating and breaking down various subject matters for your readers so that they can easily understand a certain subject matter. They are used to using proper vocabulary and if there are people who can succeed, teachers can perhaps be the best bloggers we have in the blogosphere today.
